Fasano Hotel Rio de Janeiro is the first building in Brazil designed by Philippe Starck, making it the most fascinating destination at Ipanema’s beachfront. Among the attractions are the infinity edge pool that leans over the beach, surrounded by the Arpoador beach, the Dois Irmãos Mountains and the Corcovado. Its architecture and interior design pay homage to the spirit of Brazilian design of the 1950’s and 1960’s, and the glorious Bossa Nova era.
Elegant rooms feature sumptuous hardwood floors, along with Starck’s Dali-esque ear-shaped mirrors (aptly named “ears that see”), and Sergio Rodrigues chairs.
King size beds with 300-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets and white goose down pillows are strategically positioned in our apartment. The marble bathrooms boast high-pressure showers and complimentary Ipanema flip-flops by Oskar Metsavaht.
King size bed (or two twin beds)
32” LCD television

The family’s celebrated tradition in gastronomy can be experienced at Fasano al Mare. Lead by restaurateur Rogério Fasano, the kitchen is run by chef Paolo Lavezzini, who explores the diverse aspects of Mediterranean cuisine, with a special focus on seafood. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily in the main dining area as well as the inviting terrace.
Designed by Philippe Starck to offer beautiful views of the sidewalks of Ipanema, the restaurant also has a private dining area, concealed by white linen curtains. Scandinavian tables are arranged under a splendid Murano chandelier.
